The Annual Women's Convention is the annual convention celebrating the Women's Department of the Church of God in Christ. The Women's Department began having the Women's Convention  in Los Angeles, California in the 1950's while the Women's Department was under the leadership of the second Women's Supervisor, Mother Lilian Brooks Coffey. However, in the 1960's, the COGIC began holding the Women's Convention in various cities across North America. The Convention usually lasts one business week from Monday to Friday. Also, many local jurisdictions hold Women's Conventions annually as well. The International Women's Convention is almost always held in the month of May. Nearly 5,000 people attend the international convention each year.
